The practice of health, which had begun by The Transplantation and Burn Treatment Center Foundation of Turkey in 1982, has progressed into a comprehensive healthcare group with its 1 university, 10 university hospitals, 13 dialysis centers, 5 outpatient clinics, 2 private high schools, 2 hotels and 6 foundations.

Our Founder and Founding President, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal performed the first Kidney transplantation surgery in Turkey. He later went on to perform the first ever successful deceased-donor liver transplantation and the first pediatric segmental living-related liver transplantation in Turkey, and the first adult segmental living-related liver transplantation in the world. He has performed 1.832 kidney and 344 liver transplants operations and organized more than 22 national and international scientific conferences. In addition to these enormous achievements, Prof. Haberal is also the only rector in Turkey to have published more than 1.400 scientific papers. Thus, as a healthcare group, we try to follow in the footsteps of our founder and continue the important work he began and to date Baskent has performed 2.885 transplants (liver, kidney, bone marrow, heart, and cornea).

In addition, BAŞKENT has become a reference center for many complex treatments that require advanced technological expertise and medical experience.
